Postdoctoral Researcher Position

The Data Systems Lab at POSTECH (https://dslab.postech.ac.kr), directed by Prof. Wook-Shin Han, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position.

The lab works at the intersection of data systems and AI, and recently published at SIGMOD, VLDB, NeurIPS, ICML, and ACL.

Research topics

The successful candidate will lead research in one or more of the following areas:

• Semantic operators and AI-native query processing
• Vector databases and multi-modal indexing
• Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and agentic systems
• LLM serving and inference optimization

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field (completed or near completion)
• A strong publication record at top-tier venues such as SIGMOD, VLDB, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or ACL is required
• Solid systems-building skills and a track record of implementing research prototypes
• Ability to mentor graduate students and lead collaborative projects
• Excellent written and spoken English
